Philosophical future musings

I was talking to Pravin Bhat the other day about how the graduate school vs industry question factored into my future. He asked me, "What do you want 5 years from now?"

Me: "I want to not want."

Pro: "Niceeeee! That was excellent! I want to not want. Hahaha..."

This reminds me of my first year Mandarin final in middle school. One of the questions was "What do you want to do next week?" Lacking the vocabulary required to understand what my teacher said, I retrieved, from my memorized Mandarin repertoire, the answer that shared the most similar-sounding syllables,

"I want to go to the bathroom."

Hilarity ensued, and I got partial credit.
